Prosecutors dropped charges against a Sunnyside man accused of robbing a teenager at gunpoint.
At a May 7 hearing, Judge Shane Silverthorn signed an order dismissing without prejudice a first-degree robbery charge against Ryan Medrano-Munguia, 18.
Deputy Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney Diane Hehir said in court documents that the victim was not willing to testify at this time.
By dismissing the case without prejudice, prosecutors retain the option to refile the charges if circumstances change.
Two teenagers who were also involved in the robbery had robbery and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm charges dismissed with prejudice earlier this year, meaning that those cases cannot be refiled.
Medrano-Munguia and the teens were accused of robbing a teenager at gunpoint on Dec. 13, 2025.
