The Yakima Pepsi Beetles went unbeaten in the Firecracker Tournament this past weekend at Parker Faller Field.

Yakima beat the RBI Dirtbags 11-4 in the championship game on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 5-0 record.

After the Dirtbags tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fourth inning, Ryker Heeringa pitched three and 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up one walk while striking out four in relief of Beetles starter Andrew Roy.

Yakima took the lead for good with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning with some help from the Dirtbags, who committed three errors in the inning.

Kyson Bass went 2-for-4 with two RBI, Braden Albrecht finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Nathan Kibbe added two hits and two runs scored.

Yakima (15-17) will host the Brewster Rock-It for a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Pak reach tourney title game

BELLEVUE聽鈥� The 黑料福利社 Pepsi Pak beat the Boys of Summer 13-9 at the Brandy Pugh Tournament on Sunday to advance to the championship game.

Beau Benjamin went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI, Bodie Yale finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and Alex Morales added two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI.

The Pak (21-9) improved to 4-1 in the tournament and will face聽will face the Tri City Titans on Monday.

Pippins swept by Sweets

WALLA WALLA聽鈥� The 黑料福利社 Pippins head into the West Coast League All-Star break on a three game losing streak.

The Walla Walla Sweets completed a series sweep of the Pippins (17-19) with a 15-5 victory on Sunday.

Both team finished with 11 hits in the game, but 黑料福利社 committed four errors, hit five Sweets batters and walked six.

Malikhi Emery-Henderson hit a solo home run and Taison Miller went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a RBI for the Pippins.

After the All-Star game in Victoria on Wednesday, 黑料福利社 will host CCL Showcase for a nonleague game on Thursday.
