The Yakima Pepsi Beetles went unbeaten in the Firecracker Tournament this past weekend at Parker Faller Field.

Yakima beat the RBI Dirtbags 11-4 in the championship game on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 5-0 record.

After the Dirtbags tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fourth inning, Ryker Heeringa pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up one walk while striking out four in relief of Beetles starter Andrew Roy.

Yakima took the lead for good with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning with some help from the Dirtbags, who committed three errors in the inning.

Kyson Bass went 2-for-4 with two RBI, Braden Albrecht finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Nathan Kibbe added two hits and two runs scored.

Yakima beat the Kelly Brady Bagpipers 15-7 on Saturday.听Braden Albrecht went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI and Blake Gibbons went 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI for the Beetles.

Andrew Serl and Sam Johnston both finished with a hit and two RBI for Yakima.

On Friday, the Beetles needed a late comeback to beat the Northwest 49ers 8-6.听Ryker Heeringa scored to tie the game in the fifth inning and Nathan Kibbe's RBI single in the sixth brought home Yakima's Andrew Roy for the go-ahead run.

Roy delivered a 2-for-4 performance and JayJ Gallegos allowed just one unearned run in three innings to close out the Beetles' third straight win.

Yakima (15-17) will host the Brewster Rock-It for a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Pak reach tourney title game

BELLEVUE听鈥� The 黑料福利社 Pepsi Pak beat the Boys of Summer 13-9 at the Brandy Pugh Tournament on Sunday.

Beau Benjamin went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI, Bodie Yale finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and Alex Morales added two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI.

On Saturday, 黑料福利社听rallied to beat the Mudville 9 5-4 before shutting out the NW Star Mavericks 2-0.

Down 4-3 to Mudville in the bottom of the seventh, 黑料福利社 loaded the bases with no out before Colby Graham hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game and Jake Jansen scored on an error by the Mudville first baseman on Alex Morales' grounder for the winning run.

Corbin Goodlake went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored and Christian Keller went 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Morales and Brody Roinestad combined to shutout the Mavericks in the nightcap. They allowed two hits and eight walks while striking out seven.

Alex Whiteside scored both of 黑料福利社's runs.

On Friday, 黑料福利社听struggled to take advantage of its scoring opportunities in a 3-1 loss to Lakeside.

Alex Morales recorded three of the Pak's nine hits, including a leadoff double in the top of the seventh. But two strikeouts followed by a ground ball to second base left him stranded and meant 黑料福利社 finished the game 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

Three hits and a passed ball gave the Pak its lone run on a Bodie Yale infield single in the fifth inning.

黑料福利社 (21-9) returns home to host Spokane for a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Pippins swept by Sweets

WALLA WALLA听鈥� The 黑料福利社 Pippins head into the West Coast League All-Star break on a three game losing streak.

The Walla Walla Sweets completed a series sweep of the Pippins with a 15-5 victory on Sunday.

Both team finished with 11 hits in the game, but 黑料福利社 committed four errors, hit five Sweets batters and walked six.

Malikhi Emery-Henderson hit a solo home run and Taison Miller went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI for the Pippins.

The Pippins lost the middle game of the series 6-5 in 10 innings on Saturday.听

The Pippins took a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth, but could not close it out as the Sweets scored a run in both the bottom of the ninth and 10th innings.

Parker Burt went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored and Nick Velazquez, Daichi Furuhata and Derek Almeda all drove in runs for 黑料福利社.

On Friday, 黑料福利社's four-game winning streak came to a halt in an 18-3 loss.The Pippins gave up 10 runs in the first three innings and didn't score until the seventh, when Parker Burt came around on a Malikhi Emery-Henderson single. He joined Nick Velazquez in recording two hits and Derek Almeda contributed a double for 黑料福利社.

After the All-Star game in Victoria on Wednesday, 黑料福利社听(17-19) will host CCL Showcase for a nonleague game on Thursday.
